Recupel eco-contribution on your Dolibarr invoices

Published on 2 July 2026 · 5 min read

In Belgium, as soon as you sell electrical or electronic appliances, the Recupel contribution must appear on the invoice — and for batteries it is Bebat. The principle is simple; applying it by hand in Dolibarr is much less so: right code, right amount, right line, on every sale… and on every imported purchase.

Here is how to automate all of it properly.

Recupel, Bebat: what are we talking about?

Recupel collects the eco-contribution on electrical and electronic equipment (appliances, lighting, tools…). Bebat does the same for batteries. In both cases, the amount depends on the product type (an official tariff per category), and it must be visible on the commercial document.

The problem, concretely, in Dolibarr

Dolibarr does not handle these contributions natively. In practice you often see:

💡 The Belgian subtlety: the declaration mainly concerns imported then resold products. A purchase from a Belgian supplier has already been declared upstream — do not declare it twice.

How to automate it

The right approach relies on three building blocks:

An official catalogue

Each product is linked to a Recupel/Bebat code; the amount applies automatically according to the current tariff, without retyping.

Automatic lines (purchase & sale)

When a quote, order or invoice is created, the eco-contribution line is injected automatically under the product concerned, with the right label and the right VAT.

A declaration report

At the end of the period, a report aggregates the contributions (by code, by origin) — ready for the Recupel/Bebat declaration, with the useful exports.

The Qwimo module “Eco-contributions & éco-participation”

Official Recupel & Bebat tariff, automatic lines on purchases and sales, imported-products rule, declaration report. Multi-company, Dolibarr 18 → 23.

Frequently asked questions

Is the contribution also added on purchases?
Yes. The module handles lines on purchases and sales, and distinguishes Belgian suppliers (already declared) from imports to declare.
Is the tariff up to date?
It relies on the official catalogue from Recupel (and Bebat), updated every year; the amount follows the product code.
Does the Dolibarr core need modifying?
No. Installation in custom/ (extrafields + hooks), clean uninstall. Compatible with Dolibarr 18 → 23.
